The Lord's Taverners

In 2006, Mickey was appointed a The Lord's Taverners SRSN Sports Ambassador.   Ambassadors are appointed to represent and promote the work of The Lord's Taverners and to assist in the charity's aim of encouraging all young people to take an active part in sport.

Mickey was inducted as an ambassador by ex-officio President of The Lady Taverners Council, Rachael Heyhoe Flint OBE DL.

 

Bill Tidy MBE, repected cartoonist, writer, TV and radio presenter and chair of The Lord’s Taverners 2007/8 drew a signed cartoon for Mickey on a napkin at a LT dinner. The cartoon shows Mickey in a ‘Ben Hur type’ chair with huge scythes fitted to the wheels and the caption - To Mickey, go for gold, even if you have to adapt your chair!
